Layton manufactures food processing equipment including graders and de-stemmers, as well as other machines. Layton/Welliver diameter roll size potato grader offers smooth, uninterrupted grading, operating at speeds up to 84,000 lb/hour. The Layton Hex tube feeder/spreader for raw potato handling removes water and fine material while efficiently feeding the full width and evening out the product flow to prevent surges. Layton’s frozen blueberry de-stemmer removes 99.9% of the stems from frozen blueberries.

Layton Systems has worked with manufacturers and processors for over 40 years. Conveyor product line includes horizontal motion and vibratory conveyors. Layton’s bucket elevators are used for transporting product to processing systems. Bucket elevators feature an all stainless steel construction with polypropylene FDA roll-over buckets, stainless steel chain with Delrin rollers, nickel plated sprockets and in-line or right angle gear drive. System comes in 9-, 12-, 15-, 18- and 24-in. widths.

Layton Systems’ Ribbon Wall elevator conveyors are constructed in Food Grade Quality from T-304 stainless steel with the exception of selected drive components. The conveyor Dimensions are based on production specification such as width, height, length, and discharge height. The Volta belt consists of ribbon sidewalls, scooped flights with an indent on each side depending on the product specifications. Smooth homogenous non-porous surfaces prevent bacteria build-up, resulting in maximum product shelf-life and designed to prevent product sticking, considerably reducing waste.

Layton manufactures a corn cob case packing system for packing corn in lined cases. Accurately packs 48 ears of corn vertically in a single case using vibratory aligning system, laning and counting system, and automated case loading at speeds of 5 cases/minute/machine. Unique accumulator design assures ample supply and PLC control with sensors guarantee accurate count. Available option for bulk bag in box packaging.
